Learn more about your counselor...

I am a native of Orlando and attended William R Boone High School, Valencia College and Rollins College, studying psychology and mental health counseling at Rollins.learn about anxiety disorder treatments here I have cultivated a positive approach to therapy that focuses less on the problem, and more on your strengths and how we can work together to maximize those assets. I believe that we all have within us the ability to be happy, and that happiness is a choice. We make that choice by deciding to focus on deliberate, positive events rather than feeling defeated and stuck in our wounds.

I have been in recovery for over 7 years and can attest to the freedom and distinct joy that comes from conquering one's addiction.  I understand the compulsion to use substances, despite sometimes catastrophic consequences, in an attempt to self-medicate emotional issues.  I have worked with countless alcoholics, and have helped them wrestle free from their own addictions and reclaim their lives.  Life is beautiful, and experiencing life sober and free from the clouds of addiction is within your reach!

I have 7 years experience working with addictions, anxiety, depression, trauma and a myriad of other mental health issues, often which are underlying the symptom of addiction.  I specialize in EMDR and Clinical Hypnosis, which techniques are especially effective for treating these conditions.  I received my Master's in Mental Health Counseling from the prestigious Rollins College, and I am licensed by the Florida Department of Health as a mental health counselor.

Education, Training and Experience

I studied psychology at Rollins College in Winter Park, FL and graduated cum laude with my Bachelor's degree in psychology. Propelled by my thirst for understanding what makes people tick, I stayed on the and pursued my Master's degree in mental health counseling at Rollins. The comprehensive program emphasizes cultural sensitivity and provides a well-rounded curriculum that equips graduates with the skills we need to effectively counsel individuals with a wide range of mental health disorders. I graduated with honors from the Rollins Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling program. As a cognitive-behavioral therapist, I wanted to expand my arsenal of therapeutic tools and sought specialized training in two innovative therapies, , EMDR and Clinical Hypnosis. These cutting-edge interventions provide me with a greater ability to address dysfunctional thinking, which is at the root of most mental health issues. I received my supplementary course on clinical hypnosis at Rollins College. For the past 5 years, I have worked in a variety of clinical settings as a therapist. I have helped people find their own strength and move beyond paralyzing mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, sexual and physical abuse, PTSD and addiction.
